Milestone: CFC-Davao's 23rd Founding Anniversary

For four years now, I have been blessed to be part of a community which protects and promotes the sanctity of marriage and nurtures the relationship in the family. And as a bonus, this support group has helped our Jessica discover and develop her potentials.

The anniversary was packed with worship, teaching and sharing of time, talent and treasure. For this year's founding anniversary, the chants and presentations are anchored on the theme: "Obey and Witness" which is very timely for Bishop Valles' call for unity especially for the Couples for Christ in Davao and responding to the recent calamity brought about by typhoon Pablo.

December 9, 2012 (at the RSM center of PWC) has been another year of thanksgiving for the year that was and an energizing start for another year (2013) of serving God through others.

Milestone: ten at 10-10-12

Ah this is oh so late! This should have been posted in October but as they say, better late than never. Yes! My daughter's 10th is a clear indication that I am getting old (or older) but nonetheless I am enjoying every bit of our journey together despite the reality of aging. 

Jessica grew up being called by my name because Ateneo de Davao Grade School teachers, who were also my teachers, would see me in her. Sometimes, others would think that Jessica is my little sister. Today, I am  a witness as she grows to be her own lady--- very uniquely Jessica. She has been consistently part of the honor's list. Moreover, she is developing her basketball and singing skills. I can't wait for the day that I will witness her successes in life. 

For her pre- birthday celebration, we prepared a merienda cena at home for her Kid's for Christ band mates after their hours of practice.

And for her birthday, the fambam had a dinner at the new Coco's South Bistro branch in Matina, Davao City. The resto is known for its tasty Baby Back Ribs, Pizza and their family-sized serving at a reasonable price.

It has been a wonderful journey with my family and I could not thank God enough for giving me such beautiful and lovely daughters. 

Delish Treat: Dexter's Pizza

Gastronomic Adventure is one bonding activity my family loves to do. In short, we love to eat and try out different restaurants and food chains. This weekend, we tried Dexter's Pizza at Caltex Starmart in Ecoland, Quimpo Boulevard which is very near SM City Davao. 

I was surprised that they serve big pizzas with very affordable prices. It was also advantageous for us that they have kiddie sizes (Php 60/each) because Jeka and Lena do not like the same variety of pizza. I must say that their pizzas were good and served fresh. Aside from pizzas they also serve wings and wedges. We ordered the 6 pieces at Php 125.

I would like to share with you another good news for our family: Lena got good grades and improved already with her confidence in school and Jeka is an honor student again. Big thanks to my Creator for always guiding and blessing my family.

Second day of November

All soul's day was another epic quality time for my family. Instead of visiting the cemetery, which we did on October 31st, we visited St. Paul Parish in Juna Subdivision to offer prayers and to light candles for our beloved. We were able to explore the church (which we cannot do on a regular church day) because there were only few people present.

The scorching heat of the sun brought us to a happy place to eat ice cream. Our feet led us to Caltex Starmart in Ecoland. And I promise, for our next visit, I will have a date with Chocolate Truffle Magnum.

A trip to SM City Davao in Ecoland will always be in the itinerary. And guess who got lucky!

Family time will always be rejuvenating and inspiring so i must say I have to have a lot of it!

Our Halloween 2012

The girls have not been joining the bandwagon during Halloween. So, instead of putting on a costume and going trick or treat, this year we decided to head to the beach and enjoy the sun. We went to the white beach Paradise Island and Beach Resort located at Island Garden City of Samal.

There were few people in the resort which made the place serene and more apt for a family bonding.

And for the first time, Jessica and Lena tried the Power Paddle which costs Php 120 for 30 minutes.

Then, the girls decided to visit the playground and I was surprised how their playground has improved over the years.

And because the sun and the beach are not so much for us, our next stop was at the new SM Lanang Premier. Our mall visit was such a treat because SM offered so much for the kids and adults too. The mall staff are in costume which made shopping extra fun.

Frankenstein, look what you did to their smiles!

Before going home, we ate our dinner at Tokyo Tokyo which is located at the 3rd Floor of SM Lanang Premier. Mamo, Nonoy and I are big fans of Japanese food and Tokyo Tokyo offers Japanese food for the price of a fast food chain.

It has been a fun-filled Halloween celebration for the family. We went home tired but very happy. Next year, I am thinking of letting the girls join the bandwagon: Lena as Black Widow and Me as Pepper Potts.
